In a decisive operation carried out in the southeast of the country, troops from the 22nd Jungle Brigade, part of the Fourth Division of the National Army, manage to rescue a minor who had been forcibly recruited by the residual organized armed group Jhon Linares, from the faction led by alias Calarcá, which operates in the department of Guaviare.
The events took place in the rural area of Puerto Flores, rural sector of the municipality of San José del Guaviare, during a combat operation against members of the Isaías Carvajal mobile company, one of the most active structures of this criminal group.
During the operation,
the minor was rescued and an AK-47 rifle, more than 300 7.62 mm caliber cartridges, and several magazines were seized, significantly weakening the logistical and firepower capabilities of this criminal organization, which is responsible for acts of intimidation, extortion, and violence in the departments of Meta, Guaviare and Vaupés.
This result adds to the sustained operations carried out by the Fourth Division of the National Army in the region, reaffirming its commitment to protecting the civilian population, restoring the rights of illegally recruited children and adolescents, and neutralizing threats that disrupt the security and calmness of communities in southeastern Colombia.The National Army will remain steadfast in fulfilling the constitutional mission, acting in accordance with human rights and international humanitarian law, and strengthening the legitimate presence of the State in the most vulnerable areas of the country.
